Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is traditionally observed from the 18th to the 25th January– the octave of St. Peter and St. Paul. Local Christian Churches are encouraged to work together to plan how they will pray, in communion with others praying all around the world, for the greater visible unity of Christ’s Church.
On Sunday 21st January, we shall welcome a visitor from one of the Churches in Rutherglen to our 12 Noon Mass. St Columbkille’s parish will be represented at the 11am Worship in the Old Parish Church on Main Street by Michael & Maureen McGrath. This exchange has ben organised by CAPIR – Churches Action Partnership in Rutherglen.
Prayer for Christian Unity
By your heavenly grace, O God,
restore us in mind and body,
create in us a clean heart and a pure mind
that we may give glory to your Name.
May the churches attain unity of purpose
for the sanctification of your people,
through Jesus Christ
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
for ever and ever.
