Deacon Bill’s Gospel Reflection on the Gospel theme this Sunday

Jesus taught us by word and example not to hate our enemies nor take revenge on them, not only because love and non-violence have to be the ‘soul power’ of Christian disciples, but because in hating others we hurt ourselves more. Love your enemy, because those who deserve love least are those who need it most. Do not hate your enemy, life is too short for hate; and think of no revenge, and if you want to take revenge at all, remember the noblest revenge is to forgive.
