It is important that, when we receive the Eucharist at Mass, we do so with reverence and decorum. To avoid this, please observe the following points:
- You should receive the Sacred Host on the tongue or upon ‘throned’ hands (left placed upon the right, with nothing else held in the hands).
- If your are unable to present two hands, please receive the Sacred Host on your tongue.
- The Sacred Host must be consumed at the Altar before moving away.
- Those receiving the Precious Blood are reminded that they should bow when approaching, then take a sip from the Chalice and hand the Chalice back carefully to the Eucharistic Minister.
