Guidance on returning to our church
The Bishops of Scotland have published a number of advisory documents intended to support parishes to re-open safely and gradually over a number of phases set out by the Scottish Government. These documents can all be found here.
KEY POINTS for every parishioner to consider before coming to church:
- The obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains dispensed until further notice.
- You should consider your own health carefully to decide when it is safe for you to return to church.
- You should wear a face-covering (not required for children under 2.)
- You should use the available sanitising gel when you enter and exit the church.
- Please observe 2 metre distancing spaces on the floor and in the pews.
- Our church capacity has been reduced to around 80, depending on the numbers able to sit in household groups.
- If the number wishing to enter the church exceeds our restricted capacity, we may need to introduce a booking system. But we do not anticipate that this will be necessary in the first week or two. Further details will be announced.
- The church will be sanitised after each time it has been opened for prayer or Mass.
