The parable of the prodigal son is usually interpreted as being about forgiveness and the jealousy of the older brother. But every parent can also identify with the father’s relief at seeing his son again and the those fears which must haunted him not knowing where or how his son was surviving disappearing as he welcomed him home. Jesus gave us this parable for parents as well as sinners.
