15th Ordinary Sunday
Deacon Bill’s Gospel Reflection for the 15th Ordinary Sunday of Year C
In the parable of the ‘Good Samaritan’ there only two paths to choose from. The path of love and mercy and the path of pride and fear. Those who choose the path of love and mercy recognise in themselves their own needs for healing; Those choosing the path of pride and fear leads them to a world where those who do not measure up to a certain standard are left where they fall as the world walks by. Jesus Christ came into this world to welcome all people into his kingdom. If we open our hearts to God’s love we can learn to overcome our pride and fear and see the humanity of all people.
