14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Deacon Bill’s Gospel Reflection for 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time:
There is a human temptation in all of us to fail to see God in the ordinary things in life and instead look for him in the flamboyant, the unusual or the exciting phenomenon. Our longing to touch God sends us off in search of him to other places instead of realising that God is all around us. Society gives great value to strength and undervalues weakness and we can find ourselves frustrated and depressed in our own weaknesses. At such moments we must recall that the joy of life depends not so much on what we do, but on what God does through us.
